Application Process

  • Firstly you have visit the official website https://indianrailways.gov.in/
  • After that you have to choose recruitment option given in blue bar
  • Then you have to choose the district according to your preference
  • After that you have to choose the post you are willing to apply for
  • After that you have to click on “APPLY” button
  • Next click on, “NEW REGISTRATION LINK”
  • You will find a blank form to fill up your personal details and qualification details ,
  • Then you have to pay the specific amount to submit the form
  • After the payment the form will be submitted, and you will be allotted a registration number.

RRB-JE Application fees

The RRB-JE fees are different based on different categories. The application fees can be paid via three means as-

  • Online Mode: Via net banking, credit card, debit card.
  • Post office Challan: From any branch State Bank
  • Challan form Bank: in computerized from any branch

  • Time duration- 120 minutes (160 Minutes for eligible PwBD candidates)

  • Those candidates who score minimum qualifying marks and score more than the cut-off marks will be called upon for the document verification process followed by the medical examination.

RRB-JE Document verification

This is the third stage where candidates who clear the CBT 2 examination will be called upon for document verification which will be followed by a medical examination.

There is a list of required documents that the candidate needs to carry for the verification round. The list of the documents are mentioned below-

  • Proof of date of birth and matric qualification.
  • High School/ Matriculation Examination Certificate.
  • Degree or Diploma Certificate.
  • Category Certificate.
  • Income certificate for waiving examination fee.
  • Medical certificate for persons with difficulty (PWD).
  • Minority declaration on non judicial stamp paper.
  • NOC (No Objection Certificate) from serving employees or ex-servicemen.

RRB-JE Medical examination

After clearing all the three stages, the last stage will be a medical examination. In this stage, the fitness level of candidates will be tested by the board and after being declared fit, they will be finally considered for the post of RRB junior engineer. The selected candidates will be posted under various designations.

Training Period

After clearing all the stages and being selected as a junior engineer, selected candidates have to go through a compulsory 1 year training period.

Annual package of RRB-JE

Candidates who are selected for the post of Junior Engineer by Railway Recruitment Board are initially offered approximately 4,25,000/- before being made permanent. This package comes along with various allowances and perks.

  • Periodical and Accounting verification of stores and tools in his charge.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the valuable equipment like Overhead (OHE), substations (PS) which are indulged in the shifting of rolling stock

RRB Junior Engineer - Civil Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the construction of railway buildings and water supply to those buildings.
  • Takes charge of periodical and accounting verification of tools and stores.
  • Make sure that railway tracks are maintained well for safe, fast and smooth functioning of trains.
  • Bridges, conducting workshops and construction in railway division maintenance responsibility
  • Making the estimation, drawing of work needs to be put for full platform readiness.

RRB Junior Engineer - Electrical Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance of electric locomotives, traction distribution, equipment overhead, lighting and air conditioning of the train, safety system, power supply, etc.
  • Safeguarding and producing the mainline of Electric Multiple Unit (EMU’)s and electric locomotives.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the valuable equipment like Overhead (OHE), substations (PS) which are indulged in the shifting of rolling stock.

RRB Junior Engineer - Mechanical Job Responsibilities

  • Keep track of the conditions of the components of goods wagons and passenger coaches.
  • Maintenance of a defect free rolling stock of diesel.
