The Food Safety Officer is an officer who is authorised for testing and analysing the food samples collected from various places. The Food Safety Officer is always responsible to identify any hazardous effect of food products, suspicious material in food, and quality of other related raw materials used for manufacturing the food products.
The Food Safety Officer can issue a notice to the manufacturer, distributor, and seller if there is any discrepancy in following the guidelines and regulations.
Eligibility to become Central Food Safety Officer in FSSAI
The minimum qualification criteria for this job role is given as below:
(a) Graduation degree in Dairy Technology or Food Technology or Oil Technology or Biotechnology or Agricultural Science or Biochemistry or Veterinary Sciences or Microbiology or Master’s Degree in Chemistry or any degree in medicine from a recognized University.
OR
(b) Any other equivalent qualification notified by the Central Government.
Desirable Qualification: Valid GATE Scores or Council of Scientific and Industrial Research or Indian Council of Agricultural Research or National Eligibility Test.
The selection will be done on the basis of a written test and/or interview.
