- Raman Post Doctoral Fellowship (IISc)
Indian Institute of science is known for his excellency and this institute has been recognised as an Institution of Eminence. Raman Post Doctoral Fellowship is provided by IISc. This is a highly recognised Post-Doctoral program with 50 intakes. Highly motivated scholars with an established record of intensive quality research can apply for this fellowship.
Eligibility for this fellowship: Ph.D. with good academic record. Applicants should be less than 32 years of age at the time of applying.
Foreign nationals, Overseas Citizens of India, and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are also eligible for this fellowship.
Fellowship Amount: Selected individuals will receive a consolidated amount of Rs. 1 Lakh per month. Also, they will receive a research grant of Rs. 8 Lakhs per year.
- IGIDR Post Doctoral Fellowship
Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research institution situated in Mumbai and working for better educational initiatives. Institute offers this fellowship programme for high quality research by scholars. This fellowship is granted for an initial period of one year, but it can be extended for a maximum of one more year.
Eligibility for this fellowship: Research scholars with a doctoral degree in the areas of Economics or Energy and Environment Policy and an outstanding academic record can apply for this fellowship. Applicants should be Indian citizens. Maximum age limit is 40 years. Candidates should have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the post graduate degree.
Fellowship Amount: Consolidated package of Rs.70,000/- per month for a maximum period of two years.
- UGC D. S. Kothari Fellowships
University Grants Commission (UGC) launched this scheme in 2007. Dr. D. S. Kothari Post Doctoral Fellowship is a great opportunity for Indian scholars to do their research work.
Eligibility for this fellowship: Candidates with Ph.D. degree in Science stream can apply for this fellowship. Maximum age limit is 35 years of age. It is mandatory for a candidate that he/she should identify a mentor for his/her postdoctoral Research work.
Fellowship Amount: There are two types of fellowships:

- Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
Indian faculty and researchers who are in the early stages of their research careers in India are eligible for this fellowship. This is a great Post-doctoral Research Fellowships for brilliant researchers and faculty to fortify their research capacities.
Eligibility for this fellowship: The candidate should have a PhD degree within the past four years.
Fellowship Amount: Consolidated monthly stipend, J-1 visa etc.
- ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship
This fellowship is for young Indian social science scholars to encourage their research work. The applicant should have completed their Ph.D. and wish to pursue a teaching and research career. Candidates should be dedicated to full time research on important social science research issues and problems.
Eligibility for this fellowship: The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in any of the social science disciplines.
Fellowship Amount: The fellowship amount is Rs.31,000/- per month and contingency grant is Rs.25,000/- per year.
- SERB National Post Doctoral Fellowship
The main purpose of this fellowship is to identify talented young research scholars and support them for doing their research work in the areas of science and engineering.
Eligibility for this fellowship: The candidate should have a Ph.D./M.D./M.S. degree. Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are waiting for their degree are also eligible to apply.
Fellowship Amount: Rs. 55,000/- per month and HRA of Rs. 35,000/- per month. There is also HRA for candidates who have submitted the thesis but are waiting for a degree.
