About the Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO)
In the Intelligence Bureau, Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO) is a very reputed post. For smoothly functioning, operation, and maintenance of cyber security and cyber forensics equipment, these officials are responsible. Their duty consists of the supervision and maintenance of the communication network. They have to look into the functioning and operations of audio, video, and CCTV equipment. They are also responsible for the R & D work related to electronics and telecommunication. Hence, we can say that the DCIO is behind the effectiveness of communication networks and other equipment.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates having any of the degrees given below are eligible to apply for the post of Deputy Central Intelligence Officer:
- B.E or B.Tech in Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology.
- Master degree in Computer Applications
- M.Sc in Physics with Wireless/Electronics/Optics /Nuclear Physics as one of the specialized subjects.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for this post is 35 years. Age relaxation is allowed according to the rules of the government in prescribed advertisements.
About the Qualifying Exam
Candidates having an Engineering or Master of Science degree, can become a Deputy Central Intelligence Officer in the Intelligence Bureau. First of all, candidates have to qualify the written test held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and after qualifying the test, there will be a personal interview conducted by the concerned authority. Candidates will be selected for the post, if they successfully clear the interview too.
