It is basically a psychosocial initiative taken by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India to support the student’s well being as well as their mental health during COVID 19 pandemic and thereafter too.
It is an extended part of the scheme ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ which was launched by Govt. of India in 2020.
Under this program, several advisories and steps have been taken.
Some of the major steps taken are :
- Issued advisory guidelines for the students, teachers and managements of the Schools, colleges and Universities as well as their families.
- To support it, Web pages too have been launched which incorporate and reflect Webinars, audio-visual resources including videos, posters, flyers, comics, and short films and ‘what to do and what not’.
- To extend the support, an online query forum and Frequently Asked Questions have also been launched.
- A handbook on Enriching Life skills & Wellbeing of Students and FAQs, Facts & Myths and have been covered in it.
- Counselors have also been made available voluntarily at School and University level whose services can be had through Tele-Counseling Service available on the National Helpline 24* 7.
- A Toll-free Helpline number 8448440632 has been made available also across the country to get psychosocial and mental health support from a pool of experienced counselors/ Psychologists and other mental health professionals. This service will be continued after the COVID-19 crisis also.
- Students can benefit through Interactive Online Chat sessions also.
'Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan 3.0’
Now the third phase of the self-reliant India campaign has been launched by the government of India during the financial budget 2021-22 well named as a Self-reliant India Campaign 3.0. The objective behind the launch of version 3.0 is to esteem and support the economy of India to let it stand again as it was before covid 19. Under the third phase, 12 new schemes have been started. Under ‘Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan 3.0’ from job to business all sectors have been covered.
