Common Aptitude Test(CAT)

Introduction

Common Aptitude Test(CAT) is an MBA entrance examination to get the top IIMs in India. This is for admission to graduate management programs and the top 20 IIMs and other participating institutes. There are more than 5000 seats for admission that clear the cut-off.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA,45% in case of
candidates that belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD)
    categories.

  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate can be calculated on the practice done by the respective University/Institution. In the case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as per the rules by the respective University/Institution.

  • If any University/institution has no scheme for the conversion of CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence is then done by division of the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

  • Candidates that are appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are waiting for the results can also apply.
