All India Law Entrance Test
National Law University (NLU), Delhi conducts AILET every year in offline mode. The university releases the AILET form within the first week of January. The AILET form is released for candidates looking for admission to the BA LLB programme offered by the university. The full variety of AILET is the All India Law Entrance Test. It’s a university-level entrance examination conducted by the National Law University Delhi for admission to the 5-year integrated BA LLB programme. Aside from BA LLB, the law programs offered by NLU Delhi through AILET are LLM courses and Ph.D. in Law. AILET is conducted one time a year and the number of candidates that attend it is around 20,000.

PhD | Candidates should hold an LLM degree from a recognized university with a minimum 55 % aggregate (50 % for SC/ST) Or Candidates should complete a law degree course along with a Master’s degree such as MPhil in Social Sciences/Humanities from any recognized university with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate. Such candidates should ensure that the research work they have conducted is relevant to a discipline of law with a special focus on topics such as Public Policy of Law. Or Candidates should complete a degree in law and Ph.D. in any discipline Or Candidates should work as a State High Court Judge in India for at least three years or Judge at the Supreme Court of India |

The National Law University will release the AILET application. It will be available online, at the admission portal of the NLUD -nludelhi.ac.in Candidates who want to appear in AILET should fill and submit their applications before the closing date.

AILET BA LLB
The university will conduct AILET BA LLB in offline, pen and paper format. The AILET BA LLB 2022 paper will consist of 150 objective-type questions to be asked from topics such as general knowledge, current affairs, maths, legal aptitude, and logical reasoning. Each question will carry one mark and each incorrect answer will invite a penalty of 0.25 marks. The candidates will be given 90 minutes to attempt the test. The level of examination will be of Class 12 standard. The test centers of AILET BA LLB will be provided across the country.
AILET LLM
The AILET LLM test will also have a similar pattern. However, here, candidates will be asked questions from common legal subjects of LLB graduation level. These include; Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence Laws and others.

Other colleges accepting AILET scores
NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore and NALSAR which are a part of the NLU Consortium use only CLAT scores for admission to their various law courses; in total there are 22 NLUs that are members of the NLU consortium.
However, NLU Delhi is not a member of the consortium. Also, it only uses AILET 2021 scores for admission to its BA LLB, Ph.D., and LLM programmes
AILET Syllabus & Exam Pattern
AILET question paper for BA LLB (Hons) contains 150 multiple-choice questions of 150 marks that candidates need to complete in a duration of 1.5 hours. Subjects from which questions are asked in the exam include English including Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. The exam is conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper-based test.
