Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girls Student
- Pragati is an MHRD scheme being implemented by the AICTE with the goal of assisting girls in pursuing technical education.
- Education is one of the most effective ways to equip women with the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence they need to fully participate in the development process.
- “Empowering Women via Technical Education" is an endeavour to provide young women with the opportunity to pursue their education and prepare for a prosperous future.
Number of Scholarships
Every year a total number of 4000 scholarships are awarded out of which 2000 are awarded for Degree courses and 2000 for Diploma courses.
Eligibility Criteria for Applying
- The candidate must be admitted to the first year of a degree/diploma programme in any AICTE-approved institution in the respective year through the State/Central Government’s Centralized Admission process.
- Two Girls Child per family are eligible, who’s family income is not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of married girl, the income of parents/in-laws, whichever is higher will be considered).
Criteria for Selection
- Candidates would be chosen on the basis of merit after passing the qualifying examination to pursue the corresponding Technical Degree/Diploma programme at any AICTE approved institution.
Amount of Scholarship
Tuition Fee of Rs. 30,000/- or at actual, whichever is less and Rs.2000/- per month for 10 months as incidentals charge each year. In case of Tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, Students are eligible to get an amount of Rs. 30,000/- for the purchase of Books/Equipment/Softwares/ Laptop/Desktop/Vehicle/Fee paid towards competitive examination applications forms/exam.

Documents Required for Application
- Standard Xth/XIIth/Other Mark Sheets, as applicable
- Annual household income certificate in the approved format for the previous financial year, issued by a Tahsildar or higher authority.
- Admission letter from the Directorate of Technical Education for a Diploma or Degree programme.
- The Director/Principal/Head of the Institute issues a certificate.
- Receipt for tuition fees.
- AADHAR-seeded Bank Pass Book with Account Number, IFSC Code, and Photograph in the name of student.
- Certificate of Caste for SC/ST/OBC.
- AADHAR Card
- Parents must sign a declaration confirming that the information submitted by their child is correct and that if the information is proven to be fraudulent at any point, the scholarship will be refunded.
Note: In the event that an eligible applicant is not available in any of the Degree/Diploma level Programs, the Scholarships for Degree and Diploma are transferable.
