Memorizing Vocab for SSC/BANK
There are various ways one can remember vocabs. Some of them are:-
Mnemonics:- By this method we simply relate a word with something which is easy to recall like with some figure, any animal, any place, or anything.
For example; we have the word ASSIDUOUS which means hard-working. Now relating it to ASS which is used for hard work in some part of the country, whenever we hear Assiduous we can relate it to ass and what an ASS does? Hard work.
This is how mnemonics work.
By Root words:- Simply we can remember the root words and it will automatically give the meaning of any word with which it is attached to.
For example; AMBI is a word that means two or more than two. Now see the words AMBIGUOUS. Now look at the word, here AMI means both, and GUOUS means meaning. So AMBIGUOUS means more than one meaning. And more than one meaning means confusion.
The last one is By memorizing, but how can it be possible?
The simple answer is ‘REVISION’. Only Vocabs from the previous year are more than 2000. So one can not just read it once and recall every word in the exam.
So, Rather than remembering the whole words at once, start remembering 10 or 20 daily. Make note of every word that you remember, add new words daily and make a quick revision of the collected words every day. Repeat the words, Revise the words and Recall the words.
In less than a week or more you will notice that you have remembered a lot of words.
For more command over words, keep practicing through mocks.
