Life of a SI in CBI
The training part is awesome. For the first 8 months, you will enjoy paid picnics (If you took the training positively) you can learn plenty of things from there.
After training, you might be posted to any branch but it happens very rarely. Most of the time you will be posted as per your choice. It also depends upon the vacancies available. Almost 50% of CBI staff work in Delhi only.
The Sub Inspector period is considered the honeymoon period. as there is less responsibility. Responsibilities come when you are assigned any case. There are 50–50% chances of getting a case for investigation while being SI. Otherwise, only assistance kind of work in big cases is provided.
After 4 years of completion of service including the training period, you will be promoted as Inspector of Police. After completion of 4 years of regular service with a good track record, you will be eligible to appear for the departmental exam for the post of DSP.
- You have to travel a lot throughout India. if someone does not like to travel then this job is not meant for them. they will become frustrated over a period of time.
