There are some eligibility criteria for a student to appear as a private candidate under Delhi Scheme in the CBSE Xth Board Exam. The criteria are as follows:
Students who have failed in previous year are eligible.
Women candidates who are bonafide residents of the National Capital Territory of Delhi; and satisfy the following additional conditions:-
1. that they have privately pursued the prescribed course of study under proper guidance; and
2. that they are unable to join a Secondary School affiliated to the Board or there are such other reasons compelling them to appear at the examination as a private candidate.
Women students who left an institution before or in class IX will be allowed to sit for the examination in the year in which they would have sat if they had finished their studies in a recognised institution until the Secondary Examination.
Physically impaired students must show that they are unable to attend normal institutions in subjects that do not require practical instruction or assessment.
Regular candidate (s) from the previous year who have finished a regular course of studies and been assigned a Roll No. for the examination but were unable to participate at the Annual Examination owing to medical reasons, as provided in the Examination Byelaws.
