SAFAL
It stands for “Structured assessment for analyzing learning”.
It was launched on the occasion of the first anniversary of National Education Policy, 2020 by the Prime Minister of India.
It is basically a competency-based assessment for Grades 3, 5 and 8 meant to assess the progress of foundational skills and basic learning outcomes among the students.
It will be used as a diagnostic assessment for developmental feedback to schools, parents and teachers. Currently, organizations like; CBSE, ICSE and several state Boards uses such assessment for Class 10 and 12 students only.
