From the January session onwards, the Indira Gandhi National Open University has offered an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) MA programme in Urban Studies. Every year, the MA programme will be offered by IGNOU’s School of Extension and Development Studies in the January and July admission cycles. At ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in, the graduate can apply for the MA programme.
This programme, according to IGNOU, tackles urbanisation and its difficulties and challenges. Urban Planning, Urban Management, and Urban Governance are among the topics addressed in this curriculum, as are challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and inequality, as well as urban waste management, land use planning, and decentralised planning.
