About NETF
According to the National Education Policy 2020, an autonomous body called the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) will be established to provide a platform for free exchange of ideas on how to use technology to improve learning, assessment, planning, administration, and other aspects of school and higher education. The goal of the NETF is to make decision-making on technology induction, implementation, and use easier by giving the most up-to-date knowledge and research to educational leaders, state and federal governments, and other stakeholders, as well as the opportunity to consult and share best practises.
Important Functions Of NETF
- To give unbiased, evidence-based recommendations on technology-based initiatives to Central and State government agencies
- To strengthen educational technology’s intellectual and institutional capacities
- To foresee strategic thrust areas in this domain
- To strengthen educational technology’s intellectual and institutional capacities;
- To establish content, technological, and pedagogy standards for online/digital teaching and learning. These standards will assist States, Boards, Schools, HEIs, and others in developing e-learning guidelines.
- To maintain a steady flow of reliable data from a variety of sources, including educational technology innovators, and to work with a varied group of scholars to analyse the data.
- To classify emerging technologies based on their disruption potential and time frame, and to submit this information to the Ministry of the Environment on a regular basis.
- Host a number of regional and national conferences, workshops, and other events to get feedback from educational technology academics, entrepreneurs, and practitioners from around the world.
- To identify technological interventions with the goal of improving the teaching-learning and evaluation process, supporting teacher preparation and professional development, enhancing educational access, and streamlining educational planning, management, and administration, including admissions, attendance, and assessments, among other things.
