What is the FMGE Test?
The Screening Test Regulations of 2002 established the FMGE-Screening Test.
“An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who wishes to obtain provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall be required to pass a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act,” according to the regulations.
According to the Screening Test Regulations 2002, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been entrusted with the obligation of conducting the Screening Test.
The NBEMS’ role is confined to conducting the test, publishing the results, and sending over the results to the appropriate parties.
