The University Grants Commission has asked all the colleges and universities to upload the full text of the PhD theses on Shodhganga. As per the official notice, it will help to estimate the number of PhD students who passed out and those who are pursuing research in India.

UGC has stated that the number of PhD students who finished theses and submitted on sodhganga, will also be a parameter used for ranking of HEIs under “Graduation Outcomes” of the NIRF.
