SCERT, Bihar is the authority responsible for inviting applications, conducting Stage I exams, and performing other activities related to the NTS (National Talent Search) examination in the state. More than 650 students are selected every year from the state. The exam is organized on an annual basis to identify talented students (studying in class 10th) from various parts of the country for the scholarship. Selected students are offered scholarships from class 11th to Ph.D. level programs in various fields.

The eligibility for NTSE Bihar Application is mentioned below:

  • All the students of class 10th (session 2021-2022) studying in schools affiliated to Bihar Board, CBSE, ICSE, Bihar State Madarsa Education Board, Bihar Sanskrit Education Board, or Distance Education are eligible to apply.

  • Only those distance education applicants are eligible who have not appeared in Class 10th Board exam previously under any board, not employed and are below 18.

  • There is no minimum age and income criteria. However, the age of Distant education students should be less than 18 years.

  • The school in which student is enrolled should be located in the state of Board.

  • There are not criteria of Domicile. It is means students studying in Bihar is not required to be a resident of the state.

  • Students already enrolled under NMMS scholarship can also participate in NTSE.

    Selection of students is made through a two-tiered written examination mentioned below:
    1. NTSE Stage I Exam – Stage I exam is conducted at state level by the concerned authority. Bihar NTSE stage 1 2021-2022 exam will be coducted by SCERT on 16th January 2022.
    2. NTSE Stage II Exam- Those who qualify the tier I exam are selected for tier II exam. NTSE Stage II will be conducted at national level by NCERT.
