The School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU is a premier institute in the field of Arts and Aesthetics. This school offers a variety of courses such as theoretical and critical study of cinema, visual and performing arts, Theater and Performance Studies, and programmes in Arts and Aesthetics at graduation and post graduation level.
In recent years, the study of the arts has been enriched by methods and insights from many fields, such as sociology, linguistics, anthropology, , economic history, cultural studies, political science, semiotics and feminist studies. The School’s vision has been formulated in response to new ways of thinking and conceptualizing about culture using a wide array of critical and theoretical approaches.
