The School of Biotechnology, JNU is a very prestigious institute in India. It was one of the first six centres established under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India. This is truly responsible for carrying out Postgraduate teaching and research in the field of Biotechnology.
The School of Biotechnology was initially established as a Special Centre for Biotechnology in 1985 and later upgraded to the level of a School in the year 2006. The Biotechnology programme available at JNU has established itself as a leading academic programme in the field of teaching and research.
PROGRAMMES OF STUDY
M.Sc. in Biotechnology: In this course, (students will be admitted on the basis of GAT – B ranking through DBT. The Graduate Aptitude Test for Biotechnology (GAT-B) is conducted by Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad.
Ph.D. : Ph.D. programme in basic and applied biotechnology is provide a strong academic research foundation in the following cutting-edge areas of Biotechnology:
