SCNSS or Special Centre for National Security Studies at JNU is one of the newest centres established in 2018. This centre is fully dedicated to study National Security in a comprehensive and holistic manner. The main objective of this institute is to focus on analyzing, comparing and theorizing the security issues of India. The Centre is involved in examining, reflecting on and providing policy inputs and alternative policy suggestions to relevant security agencies of India.

This is a centre of national importance, with a super specialty on the domestic and external security issues of India. SCNSS or Special Centre for National Security Studies is an interdisciplinary center combining social sciences and civilizational/cultural with a strong focus on latest emerging technologies relating especially to cyber, chemical, biological, space, nuclear and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India.

      Satyathetruth The eligibility criteia for the admission in Ph. D. course is as follow:

      (i) BE/B.Tech with 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in UGC 7-point scale (or an
      equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed).

      OR

      (ii) Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in social science or natural science or
      Humanities.
