State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) was created by the recommendation of The National policy of Education in each state for the various center of power of functions for quality education, research, and training.
The SCERT proposes educational strategies, curricula, pedagogical schemes, and evaluation methods to the state’s department of education. Although the SCERTs generally follow guidelines established by the NCERT, the states have great freedom in implementing their own education system.
The SCERT has to make a significant contribution in the field of school education in general and for teacher training in particular. It has to perform a pioneering role before the service and between the service of teachers and other stakeholders.
Main objectives of SCERT:
Explore and develop new methods of teaching
Cultivate and develop inclusiveness and tolerance as a hallmark feature.
Identify areas of difficulty in learning and teaching.
Quickly respond to the changes in content, methodology, and evaluation
