JNU has its own Health Centre with good medical facilities called UHC or University Health Centre which is providing better services for the students inside the university campus. UHC is situated near the north gate of South West of Ganga Hostel. To avail additional facilities, students are advised to obtain medical insurance cover.
OPD Services:
- UHC provides primary OPD facilities. The student can just walk in for consultations and treatment for General OPD, Dental OPD and Homeopathy OPD.
- At the U.H.C, Consultations with the specialists in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Skin, Orthopedic, Gynecology, Cardiology, Pediatrics, General Surgery (consultation only) and Counseling Services are also available.
- Medicines are provided free of cost to students from the pharmacy of the Health Centre as per University rules through Govt. Medical Stores Depot and local purchase from approved chemists inside the campus.
- Hematological facilities are available in the Blood sample collection laboratory.
- If the Health Centre is not open, all the patients are advised to go to government hospital or any other hospital. But, no reimbursement is permissible for students as per UGC norms.
