- For students who did not pass one or two courses in their class 10 or 12 board exams, the CBSE holds a compartment exam.
- The board gives such students three chances to pass the CBSE Compartment Exam. Otherwise, such students will be placed in the Failed Section and will be required to retake their previous class.
- When the results of the Class 10th and 12th board exams are released, many students receive good marks, while others do not.
- Those students who did not achieve passing grades in one or two topics have another opportunity to retake the exam through a compartment exam.
Eligibility for class Xth Compartment Exam
- Only students who have been placed in Compartment for one or two exams are eligible to apply for this exam.
- Students who have taken the 10th Board exams, on the other hand, were classified as Eligible for Performance Improvement (EIOP)
- Students that fall into the EIOP category will only have one opportunity to take this exam.
Eligibility for Class XIIth Compartment Exam
To take the CBSE Compartment test, a student must meet the following requirements:
- Students who have failed any one of their subjects are eligible to take this exam.
- In case, students appeared for six subjects during the boards and failed in two, and then they can appear for any of the two subjects.
- Students who appeared from six subjects were declared PASS but failed in one subject – they can appear in the Improvement category for this exam.
