To benefit visually impaired students UGC asked Institution to adopt resources
Universities and colleges have been required by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to adopt and produce appropriate instructional materials for visually impaired students.
Institutions are being asked to incorporate Braille-print books, large print books, tactile books, and audio books, as well as other assistive equipment, in order to provide equal access to the curriculum for people with visual impairments.
The commission also recommended that these educational tools be posted on the university’s website and made freely available.
