Importance of word limit in exam writing
Writing relevant responses in CBSE Board Exams necessitates careful planning. In an answer, each word should provide accurate information.
Some students assume that the longer the answers are, the higher the exam score. Long and irrelevant sentences in the replies, on the other hand, not only waste time during the exam, but also lower your score.
The word restriction has been imposed on every question in the CBSE board exams for a purpose. They actually want you to write a concise and accurate response, not a useless story. Because it’s all subjective, try to keep as near to it as possible.
I mean, even if you’ve reached the end of your word limit, you can continue for another 4-5 lines to express the breadth of your knowledge. The examiner will not count the quantity of words or punish you if you exceed the word limit. But occasionally crossing it with a few additional words will bring your points down if these words do not satisfy the criterion of the question. The same thing might happen if you write too much.
According to CBSE’s official rules for teachers who will be checking board test documents, no marks shall be deducted for exceeding the word limit. The only things to be highlighted while examining the answer scripts are succinct, logical and ordered solutions.
