At BHU, the Faculty of Education was established in 1918 as Teacher’s Training College and then shifted to Kamachha Complex as Faculty of Banaras Hindu University. Since then the Faculty is trying its best to produce teachers embodied with cultural traditions of our society and also modern enough to keep pace with changing times. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • For M.Ed. (Master of Education): Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in any of the following programmes: (i) B.Ed. (ii) B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed., (iii) B.EI.Ed. (iv) D.EI.Ed. with an undergraduate/postgraduate degree (with 50% marks in each) or any equivalent grade.

  • For M.Ed.-Special Education (V.I.):

  • Graduate under 10+2+3 pattern plus B. Ed. -Special Education (VI) (Visual Impairment)/B.Ed. with at least One Year Diploma in Special Education (V.I.) from recognized institutions with 50% marks.

  • A student with B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Ed. Spl. Ed. 4 years integrated with visual impairment specialization.
    OR
    Any Post Graduate Degree plus B.Ed. -Special Education (V.I.)/B.Ed. with at least One Year Diploma in Special Education (V.I.) from recognized institutions with 50% marks.

  • For M.A. Education: Graduate under 10+2+3 pattern with Education (Hons.)/having Education as a subject in any of the three years/ or any graduate under 10+2+3 pattern plus B.Ed./B.Ed. (Spl.) securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at Graduation level.
