The Digital India Internship scheme is launched by the ministry of electronics and information technology. Through this internship scheme, students will be provided internships so that they can get practical exposure before stepping into the corporate world. This internship is offered in various sectors so that the students can gain knowledge and experience in various sectors. The ministry of electronics and information technology will be responsible for the formulation, implementation, and review of the Digital India Internship Scheme. All the students of India can take the benefit from this scheme.

Objective Of Digital India Internship Scheme
The main objective of the Digital India Internship Scheme is to provide internships to the students of India so that they can get practical knowledge before stepping into the corporate world. By the implementation of this scheme, students will get experience and exposure in the different sectors which will enhance their skills. With help of this scheme, students will be able to acquire better job opportunities.

Duration of Internship
The minimum duration of internship under the digital India internship scheme is 2 months and internship is offered once a year so that every year at least 50 students will be able to take benefit of this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria Of Digital India Internship Scheme

  • Applicant must be permanent resident of India

  • The student was studying in recognised University in India

  • Applicant must have secured at least 60% marks in last held degree or certificate examination and pursuing BE/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc(Electrinics)/MCA/DoEACC ‘B’ Level/LLB are also eligible

  • Those students who are in last semester and pass out in summer 2021 are not eligible for internship

  • Students who are in previous 1 year will be eligible

  • LLB students will be considered for internship only in cyber law/IT act area

  • If a candidate have Minimum qualification as above is not a guarantee of internship

  • If a candidate have exposure in area of intended internship and have good academic background and higher qualification then such candidate will be given preference

    Yes, there are code of Conduct of Interns:

    • The interns are required to follow all the rules and regulation which all the employees of ministry follows

    • Confidentiality protocol of the ministry should be followed by the intern

    • The intern cannot claim any intellectual property right

    • Sponsoring institution and students will have no claim over the result of the project work

    • The ministry holds all the intellectual property rights in patents, design, software copyright, publication etc which are generated during the course of project

    • In order to present the work to the academic bodies and at seminar or conference the intern is required to take prior permission of the ministry

    • All the interns are required to follow the advice given to them by the ministry regarding the representation to the third parties

    • The intern cannot interact with or represent the ministry in front of third parties

    • But depending on the nature of roles and responsibility some interns can be authorised to interact with third parties on behalf of minister

    • Interns are not allowed to represent the ministry to the media

    • Interns are required to maintain professional relationship with the ministry and the public in general

    • The intern are required to be present at the ministry premises from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise permitted

    • Own accommodation arrangement should be made by the intern during the internship

    • The library facility of the ministry is limited to referencing only

    • Intern cannot borrow books. But interns can take xerox copies from the library on payment of necessary charges

    • If the performance of the intern is found unsatisfactory then the ministry can advise the intern to discontinue the project work before the term of internship
