Assam Public Service Commission conducts recruitment exam for District Transport Officer.

Age Limit :
Minimum age : 21 years
Maximum age : 38 years (age relaxation for reserved category as per govt of Assam rules and regulations)
Educational Qualification :
Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent thereof.

The Selection Process is divided into following stages :
Prelims
Mains
Interview
Prelims Exam :
Prelims Exam is like a screening test only as the score achieved in this first round will not be considered while calculating the final scores.
But it is important to clear this stage to proceed further.
Prelims test will have two MCQ papers, whose combined duration is 4 hours (120 minutes each).
All questions will be MCQs.
Candidates will be provided with an Optical Mark Recognition answer sheet.
Candidates are supposed to use only a black or blue color ball pen.
For each wrong attempt, ¼ score will be deducted from the total marks scored.
Candidates clicking on more than one answer will result in negative marking.
The General Studies II paper will be qualifying in nature and one needs to get at least 33% marks.

Mains Exam :
Only those who cleared the first stage will be considered to give the next round test. The questions asked in the mains exam will be of conventional type. The marks secured in these levels will not be considered at the time of final merit list. However, the minimum qualifying marks obtained in Paper ‘A’ and Paper ‘B’ is 25%.

Candidates can select any one language from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo.
Candidates belonging to DimaHasao, Karbi Angong, and West Karbi Anglong districts who don’t know these languages and did not study the same in their school will get an exemption from giving Paper A.

Interview :
The board conducts an interview for the candidates those qualifies the preliminary and mains written exams.
Candidates qualifying the Main exam are called for an interview test.
At last, merit list is prepared based on the overall marks obtained.
