The OTA in CDS is not the same as the standard CDS test. The normal CDS test is only for those interested in joining the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force. Their service is either a permanent commission or a long-term service.
OTA in CDS, on the other hand, is applicable to both males and females. Because they are only authorized to continue in service for 10-14 years, the service through OTA is known as short service commission. If the applicant wants to serve for longer than 14 years, they must seek a permanent commission. If the applicant is deserving of serving for a longer amount of time, the PC request will be granted.
