Every year on January 24, the International Day of Education is commemorated. This year’s theme is ‘Changing Course, Transforming Education,’ and it will be the fourth year of celebration.
In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared this day to commemorate the role of education in achieving development and peace.
59 member nations signed a resolution to commemorate this International Day of Education.
“This year’s International Day of Education will serve as a showcase for the most critical reforms that must be nourished in order to achieve everyone’s fundamental right to education and build a more sustainable, inclusive, and peaceful future,” says the UN.
