In Jammu and Kashmir, a skill hub initiative has been launched.
An official said the ‘Skill Hub Initiative’ initiative, which is part of the Samagra Shiksha project, was formally started in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Deep Raj Kanethia, Project Director-Samagra Shiksha, said 40 schools have been chosen and designated as skill centers’ in the Union Territory, however the initiative is being started as a pilot project in nine government schools.
The plan, which was conceived by the Union ministries of education, skill development, and entrepreneurship, intends to deliver NSDC-certified training courses to out-of-school children and teenagers, as well as dropouts.
It also attempts to prepare pupils for work placements and self-employment. The State Skill Development Missions would also assist the project. According to Kanethia, the nine schools chosen for the trial initiative will provide instruction in NSDC-approved courses, and the programme will eventually be expanded to include other institutions.
