New Zealand university launches support package for Indian students
One of the country’s prestigious institutions has chosen to go the additional mile to assist Indian students begin their studies in New Zealand as they wait to come to Auckland. The University of Auckland has created a support package for Indian undergraduate and master’s students who desire to further their education before New Zealand’s border reopens in phases in 2022.
Brett Berquist, the university’s international director, hosted a discussion about how the university might assist Indian students when the border reopened in stages. “We know that many students pay for their education using educational loans, which might be difficult to get when studying part-time or online. We are proposing deferred fees payment for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) master’s students because we see this as a barrier,” he stated.
