It is an initiative to promote quality of education in government schools. Pratibha Parv, literally a festival of excellence, was launched in 2011 by the School Education Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh across all government schools in the state. It is a comprehensive initiative for the assessment of teaching and learning, as well as the evaluation of educational facilities and activities.

Objective of this Initiative

  • Pratibha Parv’s goal is to evaluate students’ academic achievement and ensure that the quality of education in primary and upper elementary schools improves.
  • It also seeks to raise awareness of educational excellence among teachers and the general public.
  • The project looks into providing more hours of tuition classes for low achievers, in addition to examining the overall infrastructure.
  • Pratibha Parv plays an important role in ensuring the availability and use of school infrastructure, as well as providing social audit opportunities and encouraging community ownership of the educational process and institutions.

The Pratibha Parva assessment is completed in two stages over the course of two days. The first phase involves elementary and middle school students participating in a self-assessment based examination. This is done in the presence of district-level officials from a variety of government departments. The second phase of Pratibha Parva involves assessing a variety of factors, including academic results and teaching arrangements, school management and amenities, and community participation. This phase is conducted in the presence of Class I and Class II officers from all of the district’s departments.
The effort is run as a campaign, with an emphasis on advocacy, meetings with panchayats, teachers, and other personnel, and the use of information, communication, and technology (ICT) resources.
Pratibha Parv’s findings lay the groundwork for constructing school development strategies that focus on academic and curriculum activities that demand extra attention. The project gives feedback on a variety of topics, including school infrastructure, teaching and learning procedures, student accomplishment levels in various areas, weak student identification, teacher training, and other needs and requirements.
