Secondary and senior secondary students are currently being taught 103 skill courses across domains by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), with a special focus on differently-abled pupils. In addition, school dropout women students from the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalayas (KGBVs) in Gujarat and Rajasthan are being offered similar courses. Cookery, IT, Carpentry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Secretarial Practices and other office work, Home Science, Engineering, Health and Paramedical, including Yoga and Wellness, are among the skills taught. Special needs students are particularly interested in courses like Beauty Culture and Cutting and Tailoring. These courses are designed to be inclusive and cater to a diverse set of students.
