A Generation Of Children Will Be Left Behind
On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia campaigned for the reopening of schools, claiming that if schools are not reopened soon, a generation of youngsters will be left behind.
Following a meeting with a group of parents led by Chandrakant Lahariya, an epidemiologist and public policy specialist, Mr Sisodia made his remarks.
In light of the better situation in COVID-19, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has convened a meeting for tomorrow to discuss relaxing limitations in the national capital.
A delegation of Delhi parents led by DrLahariya and AiyarYamini presented me with a petition signed by more than 1600 parents calling for the reopening of schools.
I support their demands. When school was no longer safe for children, we shuttered it, but now our children are being harmed by extreme caution. If we do not open our schools immediately, a generation of children would be left behind, Mr Sisodia, who is also the Minister of Education in Delhi, warned.
