West Bengal introduces bridge course
From November 18, the West Bengal Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary will establish bridge courses in schools to enable students bridge the learning gap that has existed for the past two years. After the lockdown was issued due to COVID-19, the schools were shuttered .
According to a senior official with the West Bengal Education Department, the bridge course was created by a team of instructors and is intended to help pupils catch up on what they missed during the lockdown.
According to the official, the government aims to offer bridge courses for students in grades IX and 12 first, so that pupils taking board examinations in 2022 will be better equipped.
