IIT researchers develop new tech for charging Electric vehicles
Researchers from several IITs have created a new charging technique for electric vehicles that is around half the price of current on-board charger technology and might assist to drastically lower the cost of two- and four-wheeler EVs.
The team claims that lab scale development has already been completed at IIT (BHU), and that upgradation and commercialization are in the works.
According to the team, one of the country’s main electric car manufacturers has expressed interest in this new technology and is ready to build a full-fledged commercial product that can be applied to existing electric vehicles.
The technique was created in collaboration with scientists from IIT Guwahati and IIT Bhubaneswar at IIT (BHU) Varanasi.
