Six female students from the Government PU College for Girls in Udupi were barred from attending courses because they wore hijab.
On December 31, 2021, the students staged a protest, alleging that the college had denied them access to classrooms for the previous 15 days.
Raghupathi Bhat, an Udupi BJP MLA who chairs the college’s development committee, met with parents and other stakeholders.
In the classroom, he advised students to adhere to the college’s clothing code. The six students decided to leave the classroom.
The students petitioned the Karnataka High Court and the National Human Rights Commission.

Is case mein abhi latest update kya chl rha h what decision did the SC take any idea about this
GeetYaduvanshi
Abhi to ye issue or protest chl rha h ki Uniform code hona chahiye ya nhi dress mein
On Friday, the Supreme Court said it would protect the constitutional rights of every citizen and would hear at “an appropriate time” the lawsuits challenging the Karnataka High Court’s ruling requiring students not to wear any religious dress in educational institutions, and stressed that these questions should not be “spread out” at the “national level”. The Bench, headed by Chief Justice N. V. Ramana, was told by Senior Attorney Devdutt Kamat, speaking to students, that the high court’s ruling resulted in “the suspension of the fundamental right to practice religion under section 25 of the Constitution” and the requirement to be listed for a hearing in Monday.

This issue is now affecting other colleges in Karnataka’s Dakshin Kannada and Udupi districts. This issue does not appear to be going away; in fact, it may become even more difficult.
Banning hijab does not bring any good in society it creates more chaos and hatred among the people. Hijab is vary important thing in their culture for girls. I don’t think so that school uniform code is violated by hijab in any way as hijab only covers the hair aur agr mae apne school days ki baat kru to ldkiyo ko open hair mae aana allow nhi tha. To issey fark hi kya pdta hai ki kisne hijab pehna hai kisne nhi jb hairs covered hai to?
The Hijab Controversy: Supreme Court upholds the ban and issued notice to the Karnataka government
I agree with you banning hijab is only creating hatred in the society. Ye matter year k starting se chl rha h but abi tk iska koi final decision nhi nikl paya h kuki Karnataka high court is refusing to lift the ban on Hijab in educational institutions.
Iske wajah se petitioners ne Supreme Court mein petition file kri h jiske against SC ne notice nikala h ki is matter k against hearing hogi on September 5th.
Phle petitioners urgent hearing ki demand kr rhe the but ab adjourment ki demand kri ja rhi h. Ye kyu kiya jaa rha h smjh nhi aa rha h kuki ye aisa matter h jis pr jitni jldi sunwayi ho utna better hoga society aur religious culture k liye.
