Some common and severe effects of reservation system on students:
Reservation in India refers to the process of assisting those with category certificates in areas such as education, scholarship, employment, and advancement.
Now it’s time to figure out who gets how much.
The central govt has granted a 22.5 percent reservation for Schedule Castes (SCs) and Schedule Tribes in higher education facilities supported by the government (STs). Additionally, there is a 27% reserve for Other Backward Classes (OBC).
I think the general category students are the ones who suffer the most from all of these reservations. The answer is simple: there are many more students in the general category than there are seats available for them. In the course of increasing equity, the government has given considerably less care to students of general category, in my opinion. In my view, this is the most negative impact of reservations on education.
Furthermore, admissions based on caste are entirely incorrect. Rather, I would say, pathetic and unjustified. Every student should be treated equally, and each student should be given an equal opportunity to pass an examination. Isn’t it?? What I think is education should be delivered only on the basis of a student’s aptitude, not on any other consideration.
Reservations have had a significant impact on our educational system. They not only obstruct the development of meritorious students , but they also affect the education of students who fall into the reserved categories. Admissions should be made on the basis of a student’s skill and capability, not on the basis of quotas.
