No, actually they are not because nowadays the most important piece of document is our Aadhar card. Someone only asks for the birth certificate to confirm our age or date of birth but now our date of birth is present in many documents that can be used to verify our age like Aadhar card, Class Xth mark sheet, PAN Card etc.
