Virtual labs, changes in NSQF may help improve employability in India
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted initiatives on upskilling and the inclusion of courses aligned with business demands in Centre-run programmes during her Budget speech on February 1, which are anticipated to increase India’s employability.
Sitharaman said the objective of this year’s Union Budget was to increase employability and enable individuals achieve their desired level of competence while presenting her fourth Budget.
The Centre will establish 750 virtual laboratories in Science and Mathematics and 75 skilling e-labs this year, according to Sitharaman, to develop critical thinking skills and creativity, which have been reported to be lacking in graduates in various surveys.
