Focus on drone technologies, agritech fund, upskilling to empower start-ups-Budget 2022
Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, proposed on February 1 to empower start-ups in the country by incorporating drones into various service sectors, providing entrepreneurial opportunities through a dedicated portal, and providing financial support to start-ups interested in agriculture and rural enterprises.
Sitharaman unveiled the Drone Shakti programme, which aims to promote the usage of drones in various industries and give a boost to drone-related start-ups. She also introduced the Drone-As-A-Service (DrAAS) programme, which will promote drone use in service industries. Drones, largely built by Indian startups, are intended to be used in trade, agriculture, logistics, and other areas as part of this project. She also plans to set up the necessary facilities for upskilling people in the use of drone technologies.
