I’ve prepared for a lot of exams and also have appeared for many interviews. Below are given some of the important things to keep in mind, which I have personally experienced, when going for a Govt. job interview.
a) Communicative abilities:
It is essential that you have solid communication skills for every interview. You must be able to communicate, convey your thoughts, and listen to the opinions of others. It’s also crucial to have a tiny smile on your face.
b) The Body language:
Sit properly stable and comfortable in front of the panel; you should sit up straight when providing your answers. Candidates frequently lean forward or slow down while answering questions, which has a detrimental impact.
c) Keep your gaze(eye contact) fixed:
Maintain eye contact with the panelists during the interview, and never respond without thinking. Face-to-face communication demonstrates your self-assurance. Breaking eye contact frequently, indicates a lack of confidence.
d) Maintain a consistent tone of speech:
I think many candidates ignore this aspect and begin speaking out loud as a result of their nervousness and excitement. As a result, there is a negative impact and marks are reduced. Your voice should be loud enough so that everyone on the panel can plainly hear and understand you. Neither less nor more is acceptable.
e) Avoid these blunders:
Answering with thought, halting while answering, answering unanswered inquiries, and informing about your hobbies after giving your name are all examples of thoughtful speaking. While answering, if you stammer, it shows lack of confidence.
f) Don’t lose confidence:
Keep your confidence high no matter what the interview entails, even if you make a mistake. Believe in yourself and accurately respond to the interview questions.
