The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will not grant universities partial approval for technical courses to avoid confusion among stakeholders. The AICTE, despite its circular, has informed the universities that they must either obtain full approval for all technical courses or continue without AICTE approval. “It has been observed that some central/public/private universities receive partial AICTE approval for some selected technical courses/programs, which creates confusion among stakeholders,” the AICTE circular states.
Development of Technical Education
AICTE can inspect universities to ensure the coordinated and integrated development of technical education. “Universities are required or required to comply with the standards and norms set by the AICTE,” the circular states. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court in the decision mentioned that universities do not need AICTE approval to open a new faculty of technical education courses and programs.
Two new Program
AICTE recently launched two programs for students and educators: Student Learning Assessment (PARAKH) and Higher Modules for the National Initiative for the Training of Technical Teachers (NITTTR). The Teacher Training Program was launched to create a large pool of trained technical teachers.
The AICTE Program for the Assessment of Student Learning (PARAKH) will assess students and faculty at higher education institutions (HEIs) and schools. The learning assessment portal aslap.aicte-india.org was launched based on joint recommendations from the National Project Implementation Unit (NPIU) and a study by Stanford University.
