It would take some time for Jadavpur University to transition from online to offline classes: JUTA
I saw a news today that The Jadavpur University Teachers Association (JUTA) expressed their sorrow that a portion of engineering students misbehaved with faculty members during a recent rally demanding physical classes in a letter to the head of the Faculty Council of Engineering and Technology recently. Offline classes were set to commence on February 3, 2022 at JU and other schools, and academic offices were opened, with all faculty members from the arts, science, and engineering departments showing up.
In the letter it was mentioned that professors have always prioritized students’ problems, and that if courses are held physically, tests must be conducted exclusively in the offline mode as well. "Many students from different years have stated that they will no longer attend offline classes. We must make department-specific decisions in light of the current situation. Students in all years must follow the same rules and regulations "it said.
I also read that due to transportation issues, many students requested that offline classes be held after February 15, 2022. It was decided that different departments’ dates would be set after consultation with students. Despite this, some students continued to demonstrate. After a long time, they’re switching from online to offline mode. I think for a this transition to take place, all university stakeholders may require some time for things to calm down.
