About the Project
- The Dictionary of Victims of India’s Freedom Struggle, published by the Ministry of Culture, offers an account of the martyrs from India’s First War of Independence in 1857 to India’s Independence in 1947.
- On March 7, 2019, the Dictionary was officially released.
- The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) was commissioned by the Ministry of Culture to compile a “Dictionary of Martyrs” of India’s Freedom Struggle to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the 1857 revolt.
