Here is a good update I have for students seeking national doctoral fellowship. Research fellowships will be provided to students, the NDF (National Doctoral Fellowship) Scheme is inviting full-time excellent research scholars. All individuals interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in one of the AICTE-approved Technical Institutes / University Departments would do research in one of the emphasis areas. It has aimed to develop technical research talent and to encourage institute-industry collaboration that leads to new business risks.
The scheme will be there for a period of 3 yrs. In most cases, no additional extensions will be given. Also I have heard that on the advice of the Institute and consent of a Nodal Centre, the period can be extended by 6 months in extraordinary instances, such as natural calamities or reasons beyond control.
In exceptional circumstances, a 6-month extension may be granted based on the recommendations of the AICTE.
