Watching the lack of work prospects in the market, it has become very less likely to give opportunities for SC/ST students to start their own business. As I see, also today the conditions are not so easy for the SC/SC students in many fields. I feel really bad when they are discriminated on the basis of their colour, the work they do, etc.
So this Samriddhi Scheme has came to help SC/ST students in developing, launching, and running their own business/startup through an entrepreneurship development programme once their formal education is completed or even during their education, in accordance with the AICTE’s startup policy.
The Scheme is gonna be for 2 years.
The AICTE will offer Rs. 20 lakh in one-time cash support. A committee at the institute level should be formed to select nine startups of SC/ST students who are already enrolled. Seed money of Rs. 2 lakh will be granted to each firm and will not be refunded. Seed money is money allocated to start a project. The institute will receive Rs. 2 lakh to cover the cost of honoraria for eminent faculty members and entrepreneurs who are invited to deliver entrepreneurship sessions.
