The DST-ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize for young mathematicians from underdeveloped countries has been awarded to Neena Gupta, a mathematician, and professor at the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.
She was honored
for her contributions to affine algebraic geometry and commutative algebra, particularly her solution to the Zariski cancellation problem for affine spaces.
