The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, has created a liberal arts master’s program. From the academic year 2022-2023, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Guwahati will offer the curriculum. The first group of 30 students will be admitted in July 2022, depending on particular admission standards that will be released soon.
The program’s goal is to provide students with cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary training in order to improve their ability to think critically and creatively about current social, political, and aesthetic challenges, and to coincide with the NEP 2020.
